Frequently asked
Questions and answers tailor-made trips and Madeira
What exactly does a travel planner do?+
A travel planner designs a tailor-made trip in your place: flight and accommodation research, a day-by-day itinerary, selected activities and addresses, realistic drive times and on-the-ground constraints. At the end you receive a complete travel booklet and book everything yourself, directly.
How is this different from a travel agency?+
An agency sells a package and earns commissions. I sell no trips: I bill only my research and advice time. You book in your own name at public rates, which leaves me completely free to recommend what actually suits you.
How does it work, step by step?+
It starts with a free 30-minute discovery call. Then I send a quote; once signed and paid, research begins. You receive booking links and a first outline, we fine-tune the pace together, and I deliver the final PDF travel booklet with everything your package includes.
Why no quote without a call first?+
A quote written blind means nothing. In 30 minutes I understand the pace, the constraints and the wishes, and I can tell you honestly whether my help is useful and which package really fits. The call is free and without obligation.
How much time do you spend on a trip?+
Between 10 and 25 hours depending on the package and the length of the stay: comparing flights, scouting where to sleep, checking opening times and access, building the flow, writing the booklet. That invisible work is what you pay for, and what you no longer have to do.
How far in advance should I contact you?+
Two to three months before departure is ideal, especially in high season when the best stays go fast. Later requests are possible depending on my schedule, and for Madeira I can sometimes work within a few days.
Do you only work on Madeira?+
Madeira is my absolute speciality. I also plan trips across Europe and beyond: just tell me the destination you dream of and we look at what is realistic together.
Can you plan family trips, groups or special occasions?+
Yes. I adapt distances, elevation, timings and accommodation to the reality of the group: young children, reduced mobility, trips with friends, birthdays, proposals or honeymoons. A special events package exists for those occasions.
Do you book the flights and accommodation?+
No, deliberately. Booking happens directly, in a few clicks, through the links in the booklet. Every booking stays in the traveller's name, at the best price, with no hidden commission.
When is the travel booklet delivered?+
For an early request, the booklet arrives around one month before departure. For a last-minute request, Madeira only, count a few days to two weeks depending on my schedule.
What about stays longer than 5 days?+
The listed prices cover stays up to 5 days. Beyond that I send a personalised quote, always transparent and approved before anything starts.
Can the itinerary be changed after delivery?+
Yes, a round of adjustments is included in every package. We refine together until the plan really matches the trip.
How does payment work?+
No deposit. After the free discovery call the quote is sent; once signed and paid in full, research begins. Booking links arrive, we refine the itinerary together, then the final PDF booklet is delivered with everything included in your package. Flights, stays and activities are paid directly to the providers, commission free.
